Arrived in Canada in the first half 1800's, and settled in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Johannes, or John SCHABEL, b. 22 Sep 1822 in Germany, marriedANNA MARIA(Mary). John and Mary's first child was born in Canada in 1849. They had 14 children in Canada. Four died as children and 10 grew up to have big families.

  • Some of the girls married and moved to Buffalo NY,USA, but most of John and Mary's family lived here and died here (Canada).
  • I have names-dates for all their descendants, but nothing on John having brothers or sisters.
  • SCHABEL in this family is spelled two ways SCHAUBEL - SCHABEL and these people are first cousins.

    I have some relatives who have done quite a bit of research as well. Many of my relatives live in southeastern Kansas. Coffeyville, Cherryvale, Humboldt, Neodeshea, Independence. My great grandfather, Joseph Schabel was born in Colorado and moved to Kansas.
