Children of Thomas Evans and Eleanor Rees:
Thomas, a Quaker, was not in military service during the
American Revolution, but served as Uwchlan Township representative
on a Committee of Safety and inventoried supplies.

Uwchlan Township with wife and one non-white non-slave.

JONES b.1768 d.abt 1802. (The daughter of John Jones
and Jane Godfrey.) Lucy Jones was born in Wales, but was living
in Chester County, Pa. at the time of their marriage. m. 2nd wife:
Clarissa H. THOMAS b. 1777 d. April 1855. Married: 23 Mar 1803 in
Williamsport, Washington Co., MD. (d/o Francis Thomas and Amelia
Selby.)
Children of Thomas Evans and Lucy Jones:
In 1823, John Godfrey Evans married Eleanor Musgrave, the
daughter of Robert Musgrave and Elizabeth Johnston of Chester Co.,
Pa. About two years later John Godfrey led a party of about 30
people to Monroe County, Kentucky where he died in 1838. His
descendants have lived in Monroe County since that time.
Children of Thomas Evans and Clarissa H. Thomas:
Thomas, Clarissa and family moved to Fincastle, Botetourt
County, Va. where Thomas was the manager of a plantation owned by
Col. John Taylor. In about 1810, Thomas moved the family to Carter
County, Tennessee where he died in about 1821.

Mother's great-great grandfather, Evan EVANS came from Wales in 1722, landed at Philadelphia Nov.17th, settled in Chester Co., he had nine children. His sixth son Thomas was Mothers greatgrandfather, he had six children and his third son Jesse was Mothers grandfather. Jesse had six sons and one daughter, Lydia.
The sons names were, Thomas,Lewis,Jesse,William,Ezkiel and Evan. Evan is Mothers father, was born in 1795.

Evan Evans of this lineage came from Trefeglwys, Montgomeryshire, Wales.Trefeglwys was a town known for feltmaking, and Evan was a Feltmaker. He arrived in America in 1722,and
purchased 250 acres in Uwchlan Twnshp,Chester Co. on 17 Nov 1722. Margaret remarried 4yrs after death of Evan to Charles GATLIVE of Uwchlan, Chester Co., PA.on 21 Jul 1735.
